TITHES AND OFFERINGS

And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s. It is holy to the Lord. – Leviticus 27:30

The tithe is a prominent act of faith and a prominent instrument of grace in our lives today! The tithe already belongs to God. It is God’s money and it is holy unto the Lord. Offerings are variable investments over and above our tithes. A generous giver pays his tithes and also gives appropriate offerings regularly, from what he can afford. Seed-faith giving is planting your tithes and offerings with the expectation of divine provision, abundant supply and supernatural blessing. God supplies seed to the sower and bread to the eater. Don’t eat your seed; plant it! Generous giving is the attitude of replanting my predetermined tithe (10% of whatever income I receive) and variable offerings, as a seed towards tomorrow’s supply (2 Corinthians 9:6).

Who should pay tithes? Every true believer in Jesus! God does not demand 90%; all He requires is 10%. Tithing shows that we trust God with our money and that God can trust us with His money. Is the payment of tithe voluntary? Yes, because no one can force you to do it. However, it is not optional, for God is ever faithful to His Word (James 1:22).

Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness. – 2 Corinthians 9:10

Prayer: Almighty God, I thank You for all You have given me. There is nothing I have that I have not received. Help me to serve You faithfully with my money. Help to me to be faithful in tithes and offerings, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
