Romans 8:1-14
What is the source of spiritual life?
- Jesus Christ, John 1:4
- Spiritual (eternal) life is in Him, 1 John 5:11-12
- To have spiritual (eternal) life, you have to abide in Him, John 15:4-6
Can a believer die spiritually?
- Absolutely yes!
- To be carnally minded is spiritual death, Romans 8:6
- If you live according to the works of the flesh, you will die spiritually, Romans 8:13, Galatians 5:19-21
- A carnal believer is at risk of spiritual death. A believer whose mind is dominated by the flesh is spiritually sick, dying or dead
What is the consequence of spiritual death?
- Unrectified spiritual death leads to eternal hell!
- Hell is God’s refuse dump for people who have proved themselves useless to Him
- To perish is to be eternally useless
What did Jesus primarily come to save you from?
- Sin (the dominion of Sin)!
- You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save his people from their sins, Matthew 1:21
How can I maintain my spiritual life?
- You have to walk in the Spirit!, Galatians 5:16-18
- You have to present your body as a living sacrifice, Romans 12:1
- You have to renew your mind with the Word, Romans 12:2
- You have to live by the Word, James 1:22
- You have to allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, Romans 8:14 AMP
- You have to mortify (put to death) the works of the flesh, Romans 8:13, Galatians 5:19-21
- You have to produce the fruits of the Spirit, Galatians 5:22-23
- You have to do the will of God, 1 John 2:17
