RELEASED TO BECOME

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; – Isaiah 61:1

Isaiah 61 is an Old Testament proclamation of the salvation package. It reveals the Good News of Salvation that was accomplished through our Lord Jesus. He came to set the captives free and to heal the broken-hearted. He came to release you from everything that holds you bound, so that you can become everything that God has predestined you to be in Christ Jesus. It is never God’s perfect will that you walk in darkness or labour under addiction, oppression or depression. It is the devil that messes up the lives of men.  Jesus Christ has come to give you an abundant life of righteousness, peace and joy (John 10:10, Romans 14:17).

He has come to give you beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness. He does this so that He may be glorified (Isaiah 61:3). How can you take advantage of what God offers you today in Christ? Isaiah 1:19 says that if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. Refuse pride! Refuse stubbornness and laziness! Take hold of your liberty today by faith and obedience (James 4:6, Hebrews 11:6).

Prayer: Almighty God, without You, I can do nothing. I’m sorry for not taking advantage of my liberty in Christ. I’m sorry for being proud and disobedient. I am being released to become as I walk in faith and obedience, in Jesus’ Name.
